Kamiito refers to yarn crafted from handmade Japanese paper, known as washi. In ancient times, this yarn was used to create garments called shifu. To make it, a sheet of paper was cut into thin strips, zigzagging across the sheet to form a continuous long strip, which was then spun into paper yarn.
